We are a Hotel, Bunkhouse, Café / Bar, Restaurant, Bookshop & Music Venue based in Ullapool in the epic and beautiful surroundings of Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands.
"Lovely, warm and welcoming, it is one of our favourite places to stay."
The Commercial Christmas Resistance Movement began at The Ceilidh Place in 2004. It’s remit to find an alternative to the excesses of the high street and provide a refuge from tinsel, turkey & canned carols. Instead we offer a wonderful buffet mostly of Middle Eastern style food, to which everyone is invited, and we ask for donations to help children through small organizations who work for better things.
Money raised this year will go to charities to aid famine in Yemen and Medical Aid for Palestine.
Come and stay or come on the day – Doors open at 12noon; buffet starts at 1pm
The evening starts at 7pm with a four course dinner served from 7:30pm followed by a traditional ceilidh from 10pm until 1am with Dagger Gordon, Iain MacBeath and Duncan McGillivray.
Doors open at 9pm with music from two of Scotland’s leading Trad bands. Fras and the award-winning Elephant Sessions – truly a night not to be missed! Tickets cost £30 per person. Tickets go on sale from mid-November.
“Fabulous Food” Just had an absolutely delicious meal at the Ceilidh Place, with a really lovely atmosphere and friendly staff I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area. You really won't be disappointed.
“Beautiful decor, lovely room, great breakfast” Rooms were lovely, fantastic guests lounge with free tea and coffee and honest bar and lots of comfy seats.
“Fantastic small wedding venue” We attended a friends wedding here, it was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere, the food was brilliant and service was prompt even with the numbers they were serving. We really enjoyed the entire day.
