ceilidh-christmas

Christmas Day buffet is 1-5pm.

Our head chef Scott Morrison is busy preparing the wonderfully colourful buffet for Christmas Day. The Ceilidh Place is home to The Commercial Christmas Resistance Movement. We don’t go in for Turkey & Tinsel but we have the most delicious food on offer and a café full of warm people with similar views. The fires on and kids & families all welcome, it feels rather Christmassy! We support 2 charities of our choice each year and donations received for food on Christmas Day entirely goes to them. This year is one very close to our hearts – Ginos Cantina – they clothe & feed up to a hundred very under privileged children in Transylvania every year. Our manager Effie single handedly organizes parcels throughout the year for them and this year went to visit. The other charity is Re-Act Scotland:

“Re-Act, Refugee Action Scotland is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit
cooperative that was set-up in the autumn of 2015 in response to the
international refugee crisis.

In its early days, the group consisted of a small amount of volunteers
who gathered carloads or vanloads of material aid donations and
delivered them to the camps in Calais and Dunkirk. However, as interest
from the Scottish community increased and the magnitude of the crisis
became more apparent, Re-Act grew into a much larger project. By the end
of its first year, it had coordinated the delivery of over 500 tonnes of
emergency aid to camps in France, Greece, the Balkans, Turkey, Lebanon
and Syria.

The Scottish community have made Re-Act what it is. It consists of a
large, motivated group of volunteers who intend to continue and develop
the project for the foreseeable future.”
